Thomas Jefferson
Thomas Jefferson was the sole writer of the Declaration of Independence. He was chosen because of his powerful writing, personal character and embodiment of the political spirit at the time. The 2nd Continental Congress chose a committee of five people to compose the Declaration and those men were Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, Roger Sherman, Robert R. Livingston and of course, Thomas Jefferson.
